On June 14, 2011, HRH Crown Prince Frederik visited a Kindergarten in Higashi-Matsushima, which was ravaged by the tsunami on March 11, 2011, where the children had to flee the floods for safety. At the Kindergarten which had just reopened thanks to a Danish donation HRH the Crown Prince played and joked with the children and handed out a donation of toys to the children.
